SARAH SLEAN GET HOME CONTEST RULES

  1. TO ENTER the Sarah Slean Get Home Contest (the “Contest”) simply visit the web site located at www.sarahsleangethomecontest.com (Contest Website), click on the ”Enter The Contest Now” link and complete and submit your entry by following the instructions found on the site. All entries must include a username, your full name, email address, ten digit telephone number, and city and province of residence.
  2. HOW TO PLAY: The purpose of the contest is to accumulate the most points for the video created by each contestant by 11:59 p.m. on April 7, 2008. Each entrant will be required to post a video clip that they created on the Contest Website, and have people watch and give points to their favourite video. 
  3. HOW TO COLLECT POINTS: People can vote on their favourite video on the contest website. When the entrant submits the contest entry, they will receive a customized and trackable online banner in HTML code. The purpose of this banner is to post it on the Internet so people can be redirected to the contest website to make a vote on your video. Each time the banner is clicked, people will be taken to the contest website to view your video. The entrant will receive one (1) point for every one (1) click their video receives, every 10 minutes from every (1) unique IP address. You must become a contestant in order to earn points.  Points accumulated by using links, automatic refreshing or clicking programs or codes, or by masking the banner or video as something other than as authorized by the Contest is in violation of the contest rules. Any contestant breaching these rules by any of the aforesaid means will risk losing all of their Contest points accumulated or be disqualified from the Contest at the sole discretion of the Contest Sponsors.
  4. WHERE TO POST YOUR BANNER: The contestant’s online banner can be posted (where permitted) on any online social network, online forum, online message board or email signature.
  5. Entries will be rejected if entry form is not fully completed and submitted during the Contest Period. Entries received on-line shall be deemed to be submitted by the "Authorized Account Holder" of the email address submitted at the time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an e-mail address by an internet access provider, on-line service provider, or other organization (e.g. business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated with the submitted e-mail address. Limit of one (1) entry per individual, per email address. Contest starts at 12:00 a.m. Eastern Time ("ET") on Friday, February 29, 2008 and closes on Monday, April 7, 2008 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time ("ET") (the “Contest Period”). There is one (1) grand prize (the "Grand Prize"), ten (10) secondary prizes (the "Secondary Prizes"), (collectively, the "Prizes" and each, a "Prize") to be won from among all the eligible entries received during the Contest Period. Limit of one Prize per entrant. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited.
  6. The contest sponsor is Warner Music Canada Co. (hereinafter referred to as the “Contest Sponsor”).
  7. To enter and to be eligible to win, entrant must be a legal resident of Canada including Quebec and be over the age of eighteen (18). Employees and their parents, siblings and children, and persons domiciled with an employee of any of the Contest Sponsor, its agents, parent, affiliated or related companies, subsidiaries, divisions, prize sponsors, and promotional and advertising agencies and administrators, are ineligible to enter.
  8. Grand Prize: There is one (1) Grand Prize consisting of a trip to Paris, France for two (2) persons, one (1) Sarah Slean “Emily Sleigh” lithograph, one (1) Sarah Slean “The Ravens” poetry book, one (1) Sarah Slean CD library. The trip includes: round trip economy air fare for two (2) from a major Canadian airport closest to the Prize winner's place of residence in Canada  (hereinafter referred to as the "Departure Point") to Paris, France; three (3) nights accommodation (based on one (1) standard hotel room, double occupancy) as chosen by the Contest Sponsors, plus Five Hundred Dollars  ($500.00) Cdn. in spending money. The approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is approximately $2,400.00 CAD (depending on Departure Point).  Prize winner and his/her travelling companion are solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein including, without limitation, applicable taxes, fuel/currency surcharges, ground transportation, meals, beverages, room service, gratuities, merchandise, telephone calls, insurance together with any required travel documentation, and all personal expenses of any kind or nature, together with any applicable overnight layover. Prize winner and his/her travelling companion are also solely responsible for all costs incurred to and from the Departure Point as the Prize originates and terminates there. It is recommended that Prize winner and his/her travelling companion obtain sufficient personal insurance prior to departure.  Travel must take place between May 1, 2008 and June 30, 2008. Travelling companion must be eighteen (18) years of age or older in order to participate.
  9. Secondary Prizes: There are nine (9) Secondary Prizes, each consisting of one (1) Sarah Slean “Emily Sleigh” lithograph, one (1) Sarah Slean “The Ravens” poetry book, one (1) Sarah Slean CD library. Approximate retail value of each secondary prize is $118.00 CAD.
  10. Frequency Prizes: There are one-hundred (100) Sarah Slean “The Baroness” signed limited edition posters for the first one-hundred contest entrants. There is no commercial value for the frequency prizes.
  11. Prizes must be accepted as awarded. The Prizes may not be sold, transferred and are not convertible to cash. Contest Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the Prizes in whole or in part in the event that all or any component of the Prizes are unavailable. Prize winner is solely responsible for all costs not expressly described herein.  No change in travel arrangements can be made by the winner once the booking has been confirmed. The Prize may not be used towards any type of frequent flyer mileage, or other reward point accumulation program.
  12. On or after Monday, April 7, 2008 at approximately 11:59 p.m., the top ten (10) entrants who have collected the most points throughout the Contest Period will be eligible to win the Grand Prize. These top ten (10) entrants will be entered into a judging forum by a judge appointed by the Contest Sponsor. The judge will choose the best video from the top ten videos with the most votes to win the Grand Prize. The remaining nine (9) entrants will win the Secondary Prizes. In the event there is a tie where more than one contestant has the equal amount of points, their names will be submitted into a random draw so that only the appropriate number of winners are declared for each Prize. The odds of winning a Prize will depend upon the total number of eligible entries received during the Contest Period. The Contest Sponsor, acting reasonably, will attempt to contact potential winners by telephone or email within two (2) business days after the draw. In the event a potential winner cannot be contacted within 2 business days after the draw, he or she will be disqualified and an alternate potential winner will be drawn, or in the case of the Grand Prize or Secondary Prizes, the entrant with the next highest amount of points will be selected. Proof of identification must be provided upon request. In order to be declared a winner, potential winner must first correctly answer, unaided, a time limited mathematical skill testing question administered by the Contest Sponsor. Before being awarded a Prize, each potential winner will be required to sign and return within the time stipulated by the Contest Sponsor, a full release and indemnity form stating that he/she has read and understood these official rules and regulations (“Rules”), grants all consents required, authorizes the Contest Sponsor to broadcast, publish and disseminate his/her name, city of residence, photograph, likeness, sobriquet and voice, in connection with any promotion or publicity, and/or for general news, entertainment and information purposes at no additional compensation to the potential winner, beyond the awarding of or participation in the Prize, accepts the Prize as offered and releases the Contest Sponsor from any and all liability of any kind arising out of the potential winner’s participation in this Contest and receipt and use of the Prize. In the event that a potential winner does not comply with all the provisions as contemplated in these Rules, Contest Sponsor shall have the right to disqualify potential winner, and draw/select an alternate potential winner and the Contest Sponsor shall be fully and completely released and discharged from any liability or responsibility in this regard. The provisions and procedures referred to above relating to selection and notification of a potential winner, if applicable, shall be applied, with the necessary amendments, until a qualified winner has been duly selected. The first one-hundred eligible entrants to the Sarah Slean contest will receive a Frequency Prize.
  13. By entering this Contest the entrants and participants automatically agree to accept and abide by these Rules. All decisions of the Contest Sponsor with respect to any aspect of this Contest, including without limitation the eligibility of entries, are final and binding on all entrants in all matters as they relate to this Contest.
  14. All entries become property of Contest Sponsor who assumes no responsibility for garbled, lost, late, delayed, destroyed or misdirected mail, voice messages, e-mail or any computer errors or malfunctions. No correspondence will be entered into except with entrants requesting Rules by mail or requesting names of prize winners (for which a self-addressed, postage paid envelope must be included). Contest Sponsor does not assume any responsibility for incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information, technical malfunctions, human or technical error, seeding or printing errors, lost, delayed or garbled data or transmissions, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or failures of any telephone or computer line or network, computer equipment, software or any combination thereof. Entry materials-data that have been tampered with or altered are void. If for any reason, in the opinion of the Contest Sponsor, in its sole discretion, the Contest is not capable of running as originally planned, or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity or the proper conduct of the Contest is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures or any other causes beyond its control, Contest Sponsor reserves its right, subject to the jurisdiction of the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux in Quebec,  to cancel, terminate, modify, amend, extend or suspend the Contest including canceling any method of entry, and select a winner from previously received eligible entries. Contest Sponsor reserves its right to modify the Rules without materially affecting the terms and conditions hereof. The Contest Sponsor reserves its right in its sole discretion to disqualify any individual it finds or believes to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or to be acting in violation of the Rules or otherwise in a disruptive manner. Any attempts to deliberately damage the Contest web site or to undermine the legitimate operation of this Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made the Contest Sponsor reserves its right to seek remedies and damages to the fullest extent of the law. Contest Sponsor shall not be held responsible for any errors or negligence that may arise or occur in connection with the Contest including any damage to an entrant’s computer equipment, system, software or any combination thereof, as a result of their participation in this Contest or from downloading any material from the Contest web site, where applicable.
  15. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws and regulations. By entering this Contest, each entrant consents to the collection, use and distribution of his or her personal information (information that identifies an entrant as an individual, such as home telephone number, age and home address) by the Contest Sponsor for the purposes of implementing, administering and fulfilling this Contest. Contest Sponsor will not sell or transmit this information to third parties except for the purposes of administering this Contest. Any inquiry concerning the personal information held by the Contest Sponsor should be addressed to Warner Music Canada at 3381 Steeles Avenue East, Suite 100, Toronto, Ontario, M2H 3S7.
  16. For residents of Quebec: Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
